Gadwal is probably the most common saree in any saree loving woman's wardrobe. It is extremely popular as a festive wear due to its classy looks, brilliant colour combinations and comfort of wearing.
Gadwal sarees originated from the small town of Gadwal in Telengana. Originally, it used to be woven only in silk with intricate zari borders and anchal. Now sico ( i.e. silk and cotton mix) gadwals are also available. Of late gadwals are also being made without zari borders.
I am presenting here today two Gadwals from my collection. The first one is a silk Gadwal in vibrant colour combination with light zari work and the second one is a sico Gadwal with plain borders and anchal.
